How to get around in Cinque Terre

BY TRAIN
Especially in high season, the 5 Terre Express train is the most comfortable, fastest and cheapest way to get around Cinque Terre: the railway line connects the five villages (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, Corniglia, Monterosso) with frequent minutes (every 15 minutes in Spring and Summer) and with an average journey time between one town and another of 5 minutes. The stations are inside the villages so you will not need other transports (bus or taxi) except for Corniglia which can be reached by bus or on foot via a long uphill road.

Tickets can be purchased directly at the stations. From April to November the cost is 5 Euros for adults and 2,50 Euros for children aged 4 to 12.

If you plan to get more than four trains in the same day, the best option is the Cinque Terre Card, which can be purchased at each station, which includes all trains between Levanto and La Spezia for the whole day, free wi-fi, the entrance to the blue trail and some bus lines. For more details, we recommend that you visit the Cinque Terre National Park website on the page dedicated to Cinque Terre Card.

Train timetables change frequently depending on the period. Here you can consult and download the train timetables currently in force. However, we advise you to stay updated by visiting the 5 Terre Express website.
